This is a (hopefully) tl;dr reference for the canon-unfamiliar. Not every letter is filled, but any terms used in tags can be found within this glossary. All quotes provided were said by Garrus Vakarian himself.

Also known as The Systems Alliance. It is the representative body of Earth and human colonies within Council space.
Garrus' alias, used widely during his vigilante days on Omega. The name is a reference to his good deeds, dubbed by the locals.

An ancient deep-space station that serves as the capital of the Citadel Council. It is preserved by a mysterious race known as the keepers, who self-destruct whenever taken in for examination and research. Not much is known about them outside of their preservation efforts, but they are a protected species under Citadel authority.
The Citadel Council is the governing body of the Citadel and the authority of Citadel space (also known as Council space). They are a committee represented by a member of each Council race (asari, salarian, turian, human), who make decisions that carry great weight within the Milky Way.
Short for Citadel Security. The police of the Citadel that once had Garrus Vakarian as one of their operatives. He often found himself at odds with C-Sec's strict regulations, and he gladly dropped his career as a C-Sec detective to work with a Spectre.

The space frigate with a multicultural crew, which includes Garrus as the gunnery officer. He upgraded its weapons to turian-style cannons that pack a mean punch. He considers the Normandy to be his second home.
A dim and gritty city with no regulated government or military presence. Omega is a hub of narcotics, weapons, and material trafficking, located within the Terminus Systems. Its history of being rich of element zero has attracted pirates and thieves, with most of its districts being split into gang territories.

A handheld device that are as common in Mass Effect as present-day smartphones. It's utilized for its network access, fabrication properties, diagnostic capabilities, and remote communication. They are extremely versatile and modifiable. Upgrading his tech abilities and powers is how Garrus gets the most use out of his personal Omni-tool.
The turian homeworld, not considered habitable to most species. It has a weak magnetic field, and the turian carapace serves as protection from the solar radiation that lives on the planet.

The commanding officer of the Normandy and the galaxy's first human Spectre. Garrus' Shepard was a female paragon.
Elite agents that work under the Council's Special Tactics and Reconnaissance branch. They are often considered 'above the law' and answer to no one but the council, who entrusts their Spectres to preserve galactic stability by whatever means necessary.
A system independent from the government of Council and Alliance space. It attracts outlaws of all types, though that hasn't prevented species from colonizing worlds within the Terminus Systems.
Garrus' species, known for their militaristic and disciplined culture. They have a thick, metallic-like exoskeleton (what may also be referred to as skin). Any protection this grants them is minor; they aren't prone to papercuts, but they can still be pierced by projectiles.
